Dr. Vivian Cheung: I am a patient and I see patients with rare diseases. As a doctor, I want patients to be more willing to disclose their illness. But as a patient, I understand the hesitancy. Finding doctors that understand our disease is not easy. So many of us want to and need to hang onto insurance. Better legislation is needed to protect ableism in the workplace.
