What is the RARE Access curriculum?
The RARE Access Program’s curriculum was developed by rare disease advocates with 50 years of combined experience working in Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, social services, and healthcare. The curriculum provides a detailed, multi-module overview of health insurance coverage focusing on commercial and public plans (Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace), government programs, and increasing engagement with payers.
Graduates are offered ongoing mentorship, as well as membership in the RARE Access Collaborative – a group that meets regularly to discuss coverage trends, challenges and works together to develop solutions. By working together as a community, we can help change the landscape of access for patients with rare diseases.
