Molly Maywood is a sibling advocate inspired by her younger sister. Since 2022, Molly has fought for rare disease awareness with the EveryLife Foundation and the Young Adult Rare Representatives. She also volunteers with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Ehlers Danlos Society. She has attended events including Rare Disease Week, Rare Across America, Rare Disease State Advocacy Day, Youth and Teen Advocacy Day, and the Ehlers Danlos Society’s 2024 Global Learning Conference.
Motivated by her advocacy work, Molly is pursuing a career in genetic research and is currently enrolled in a five-year B.S./M.S. biotechnology program at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Through her advocacy and education, Molly’s goal is to advance the science and understanding of rare diseases, with the hope of making a lasting impact in the lives of patients and families facing similar challenges.
