James Uyeda is Vice President of Philanthropy at the RARE Foundation, where he leads philanthropic engagement with individuals, families, and community supporters to advance the Foundation’s mission. With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit development and healthcare philanthropy, James has built and led fundraising initiatives that support medical research, patient advocacy, and health equity. Prior to joining the RARE Foundation, James spearheaded fundraising efforts to establish the venture philanthropy arm Pathways to Cures at the National Hemophilia Foundation, as well as secured funding for the creation of the University of Montana’s Skaggs Institute for Health Innovation. He currently resides in Montana, with his wife, and two young children.
