Brenda Colmenares is the Director of Communications at the RARE Foundation, where she leads communications efforts that amplify the voices of the rare disease community and highlight the Foundation’s policy initiatives. Brenda studied communications and later earned a master’s degree in marketing and communications. She began her career in media as a radio producer in Venezuela and later worked in digital marketing and content creation, helping brands and restaurants grow their audiences through social media and website storytelling. In 2017, Brenda was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, an experience that reshaped her perspective on the type of work she wanted to pursue. Motivated to make a meaningful impact, she joined the RARE Foundation in 2019.
