Abbey Hauser, Associate Director of Patient and Community Engagement, is a rare disease advocate with a passion for health equity as it relates to rare diseases and chronic illnesses. Their work draws on years of experience in various roles at rare disease patient advocacy groups. Abbey enjoys helping advocates tell their stories and connecting it to policy at an accessible level. They are also a speaker who often shares about the transition of health care from pediatrics to adulthood, sharing your story, and adaptive sports. When not advocating, Abbey loves adaptive sports like Nordic sit skiing and wheelchair tennis, reading, writing poetry, collecting stamps, and sending cards to friends.
