The EveryLife Foundation in Partnership with Expecting Health at Genetic Alliance Wrapped the Second Annual Newborn Screening Bootcamp

Over 280 individuals joined this virtual five-part training series designed to educate and engage newborn screening stakeholders. During the Newborn Screening Bootcamp, a variety of issues were discussed such as the importance of building a coalition and how to support the entire newborn screening system. Other topics included the benefits of patient registries, the evidence review process of the Federal Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children (ACHDNC), and how patient advocacy organizations and public health laboratories can work together to move the newborn screening system forward.

The Bootcamp wrapped with three great discussion groups among attendees with information on how to move their conditions forward in newborn screening.

The EveryLife and Expecting Health at Genetic Alliance would like to thank the speakers and everyone who participated in this year’s Bootcamp. We are looking forward to continuing to work to improve newborn screening.
