Paula Kovarick Segalman Family Scholarship for ALS
About: Established in memory of Paula Kovarick Segalman, this scholarship supports undergraduate students financially impacted by ALS.
Eligibility: Open to U.S. residents who have experienced financial hardship due to ALS affecting themselves or an immediate family member (living or deceased). Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school for the upcoming academic year.
Award: Up to $5,000, renewable.
Application Dates: Next application opens Spring 2027.
#RAREis Scholarship Fund
About: The RARE Foundation, in partnership with Amgen, established the #RAREis Scholarship Fund in 2020 to support adults living with rare diseases pursuing their educational goals.
Eligibility: Open to U.S. residents age 17 or older with a rare disease, diagnosed or undiagnosed with verification, who plan to enroll full- or part-time in an accredited college, university, or trade school for the Fall semester.
Award: One-time $5,000 scholarships
